How does the recording work?
A technician is always present in the studio to carry out the recordings. Prepare yourself well, get to the studio in time and the technician will take care of the rest. After recording, the product will be delivered to the e-mail address you entered in your booking request. Keep in mind that the technician will not edit the product, unless previously agreed upon. More information regarding the recording process can be found in the Studio’s terms of use.
Can you record a podcast remotely?
Yes, it is possible for one or two people to participate in a recording remotely, using either vMix Call or Zoom. If you wish to participate in a recording remotely, let us know about it in your booking request and we will provide you with further information.
Can I produce content for Studio Soc&kom’s official channels?
If you wish to produce content for Studio Soc&kom’s official channels, please contact the Chair of the Community Relations Committee at the Swedish School of Social Science. Describe your idea, the type of content you wish to produce and the number of parts or episodes you want to produce, and explain when you wish to publish the content. Only after that should you book a recording session in the studio. Contact details and other information about the process can be found here.
Where is the studio located?
You will find the studio on the third floor of the Swedish School of Social Science at Snellmaninkatu 12 in Helsinki. The studio is in room number 305, which is located inside of room number 307.
Is it possible to record video?
Yes. The studio allows for both webcast recordings (sound and video) and podcast recordings (only sound). Please specify in your booking request if you wish to record only sound or both video and sound.
Can I make changes to/cancel my booking request after sending it?
Yes you can. If you wish to update any provided information, cancel or change your booking, do so by clicking the “cancel” or “edit” link in the confirmation email we sent you per e-mail. Remember that cancellations should be done at least 24h in advance.
Is it possible to book the studio for a longer period of time?
Normally we accept bookings for one hour at a time. It is however possible to book the studio for a longer period of time, e.g. for teaching purposes, if agreed upon previously with the studio staff. If you wish to book the studio for several days in a row or for a longer period of time, contact us here with your request.
Who is responsible for Studio Soc&kom’s productions
The publisher of Studio Soc&kom is the Committee for Community Relations, led by the Vice-Rector for Community Relations. Responsibility for the content of the podcasts lies with the podcast creator. The Studio Soc&kom production team handles the publication of Soc&kom’s productions. The production team’s contact information can be found here. Soc&kom holds no responsibility for the content of external podcasts recorded in the studio.
